JIM Bentley says assistant boss Ken McKenna deserves a huge amount of praise for the Shrimps’ excellent start to the season.
The Morecambe manager says McKenna’s coaching ability and character have played a major part in his side’s success so far and he believes he made the perfect choice for his number two.
Bentley said: “Much of what Ken does goes under the radar but he has been an absolute rock for me.
“He has an amazing knowledge of the game and has a great way with the lads and everyone at the club.
“He has fitted in perfectly and helped me no end. I have known him for a long time and we spend a lot of time together at the club and on the road watching games and he is full of ideas that we can work on.
“He has never been at this level before but certainly has the pedigree. When you consider he was the manager of a TNS team that played the likes of Liverpool in the Champions League you know he is a man who has worked at a good level.
“Like me, he is determined to make the most of the fantastic chance we have been given, and he deserves a lot of credit for what he has done.”
