Morecambe boss Jim Bentley believes his side’s friendly draw with Bury “had a little bit of everything”.

A competitive clash at the Globe Arena on Friday night ended 1-1 after captain on the night Peter Murphy cancelled out Ryan Edwards’ early own goal.

The Shrimps boss said: “It had a little bit of everything tonight.

“People being separated, tackles going in and both teams wanting to win the game even though it’s a pre-season friendly.

“That’s what we want it to be like in pre-season.

“We don’t want to have a game where one team pops it round and there’s no urgency to the play.

“Quite a lot of what we’ve worked on was carried out too which is pleasing.

“There was a corner routine we got in with quite a few times.

“There’s more to come but there was some really positive stuff and we’re bubbling along nicely.”
