Morecambe manager Jim Bentley happy in the rain after the victory over Bristol Rovers.

Jim Bentley said relief was his overriding emotion after seeing his side come from behind once again to see off Bristol Rovers at the Globe Arena on Saturday.

The Shrimps have made a habit of picking up points from losing positions this season which the Morecambe boss admits is an emotional rollercoaster.

And it was the a familiar feeling as the hosts went 1-0 down only to score twice in the second half with Jack Redshaw’s 86th-minute goal sealing victory.

He said: “It’s a great performance and a great comeback again.

“It’s ridiculous. It’s something like 19 points we’ve picked up from losing positions.

“That’s a good sign in itself but as a manager you want to see your team take the lead and see games out.

“It’s heart in the mouth stuff with an 86th-minute winner.

“I keep going on about a fine dividing line. Did we deserve to win? Maybe. A draw might have been a fair result but we’ll take the three points and the two goals.

“I felt a little bit flat after the game to be honest. It took it out of me emotionally today.

“It’s more of a relief. But we got there in the end so we’re all pleased.”

And Bentley knows the result could easily have gone against his side again but they held their nerve to pick up a first home win since October 5.

He said: “The conditions weren’t great and got even worse and we started quite well but they got the goal when we didn’t defend a cross into the box.

“Baz (Barry Roche) made a good save but it has just gone right to O’Toole who has put it in, which was similar to what happened against Cheltenham last week.

“I asked them (the players) to up their game in the second half and (Padraig) Amond’s got the equaliser for us.

“We kept plugging away, had one or two chances, they’ve broke a couple of times and had a fantastic chance with a free header a minute before the winner and we could have been talking about another narrow defeat and that fine dividing line but fortunately for us we’ve got the three points.

“I’m made up that we’re back to winning ways because the league is that tight.”
