Shaun Beeley capped a fine season by clearing up at Morecambe’s end of season awards evening on Saturday night.
The right back won five awards on the night including The Visitor’s Player of the Year award and the Players’ Player of the Year gong as voted for by his team mates.
The 26-year-old. who impressed week in, week out in his first season for the club, was also named Sardines (away fans) Player of the Year, Shrimps Player Player of the Year and F-Com (supporters) Player of the Year.
Beeley said: “I’m really grateful to everyone who voted for me in any of the awards.
“It’s fantastic to know you are appreciated by supporters and any player will tell you that the Players’ Player of the Year award is always a bit special.
“I’ve had a great year. Hopefully next year I’ll be as successful.”
A packed Wright & Lord Suite also saw first team awards handed out to Jack Redshaw after securing the Golden Boot award with his goal in the 3-1 win over Southend earlier in the day, Aaron McGowan, as Junior Reds Player of the Year, and Community Player of the Year Andy Wright.
Laurence Wilson’s stunning strike in the 3-2 win at Luton in March was named as the goal of the season.
Special presentations were also made to Stewart Drummond after the final appearance of his career earlier in the day, and long-serving coach Dickie Danson, who has been honoured with a Football League award.
