It was obviously great to get back to winning ways on Saturday but what was most pleasing was the manner in which we gained the three points.
To go away to one of the fancied sides and to come away with a thoroughly deserved win was a massive boost for everyone involved with the club.
It said something about the level of performance that our travelling army of support completely outsung the home crowd despite being vastly outnumbered.
Apart from one goal-line scramble in the first half, where the lads defended brilliantly, I felt we were reasonably comfortable for most of the game.
The first goal was always going to be the most important and once Kev (Ellison) smashed it home we were always going to go on and win the game.
All the lads are hoping he will finally have a shave now that he has got himself another goal but it seems to be there for the long haul.
It was also great to see Alex (Kenyon) get on the score sheet with an absolute screamer from all of one yard.
Alex is an extremely popular lad into the dressing room and everyone was buzzing that he finally opened his Shrimps account, even if he had no idea how to celebrate because it’s been that long since he found the back of the net!
