Although we haven’t got back to winning ways there was enough in our last two performances to suggest that we are not far away.
Down in Exeter we started the game really poorly and even after two minutes we probably deserved to be behind.
We didn’t keep the ball and gave a team who have notoriously been struggling at home a real lift.
Once we got a foot hold in the game we looked pretty comfortable and getting the equaliser was exactly what we deserved.
But all our hard work almost amounted to nothing at the end.
We were obviously unhappy with the penalty award because we thought he had gone down easily and it was a brave decision by the linesman that saved me from having to face a last-minute penalty.
I say very brave because it’s not often you’ll see a linesman overrule his referee in the last minute of a game.
Especially when it is against the home side.
On Saturday, it was the same story for the first 45 minutes.
We weren’t at the races and didn’t take the game to Oxford like we planned.
But after the break I think it’s fair to say we absolutely battered them.
We pushed them all the way and it would have been a travesty had we not got something out of the game.
That is now twice in two years that we have scored in the last minute from a corner against Oxford when I’ve ventured forward.
Coincidence? I think not!
