DAVE Chisnall was knocked out in the early stages of the latest Players Championship events at the weekend.

The Morecambe darts ace played on Saturday and Sunday at the Barnsley Metrodome, reaching the third round on both days.

Receiving first round byes, Chisnall defeated Mark Dudbridge 6-1 in the second round on day one before being eliminated 6-2 by James Richardson at the next stage of the competition won by Michael Van Gerwen.

The following day Chizzy Rascal beat Les Wallace 6-3 in round two before being knocked out 6-4 by Wayne Jones in round three.

Sunday’s £6,000 winners cheque was won by Australian Simon Whitlock.
