He was boxing Jack Comby from Spennymore Boxing Club, and it was expected to be the Skerton boxer’s toughest test to date.

The bout started at a frenetic pace, with Vidal stamping his authority by landing some heavy telling blows that had Comby on the backfoot from the first bell.

The second round saw Vidal cement his domination by keeping the centre of the ring and landing at will on his opponent, who seemed to have no answer to his skills.

The third round was a closer affair as Vidal tired from his exertions, but the Skerton boxer still landed the more telling blows and finished the round strongly.

The result was announced and Vidal had his hand raised as unanimous winner, taking his record to 17 wins from 19 bouts.

He now moves on to the semi finals next Saturday in Bridlington.

The Lancaster-based club are now taking on new members and anybody wishing to join can contact Paul Fielding on 077 666 55 401.
