On Saturday night the Morecambe-based club had three fighters on Leigh ABC’s show.

Joey Robb was first to step in the ring and he showed his huge improvement by outboxing his Leigh opponent for all three rounds to win by unanimous decision.

Next in the ring was his twin brother Danny who also put on a dazzling performance and totally outclassed his Leigh opponent to get his hand raised as a unanimous winner.

Last in the ring for Skerton was senior boxer Sean Coxon who was up against home favourite Matty Walsh.

The first round started at a fast pace and it was the Leigh boxer who sat on his stool at the end of the first the happier man.

Coxon however started the second much more focused and clearly took the round before rocking his man with some heavy blows in the third.

The final bell sounded and as the boxers were called to the centre of the ring the crowd were showing their appreciation at such a hard-fought bout.

One fighter was going to leave disappointed and it was Coxon who lost a close split decision.

This brought another successful weekend to a close for a club that have again been recognised by Boxing England with an outstanding achievement award.

The club has won 86 of its 102 bouts so far this season with coaches Paul Fielding and John Varey picking up the accolade at the recent North West championships in Manchester.
