Tyson Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy says his man will “rule the heavyweight division in 2013”.
His claim comes after the Morecambe-based giant’s bout with American Kevin Johnson this Saturday in Belfast was confirmed as a WBC world heavyweight title eliminator.
Hennessy believes Fury will take another major step towards a showdown with either Vitali, who holds the WBC belt, or Wladimir Klitschko at the Odyssey Arena on December 1.
The Hennessy Sports boss said: “Tyson is the future of the heavyweight division and the fans watching live on Channel 5 and those in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast are going to see that on Saturday night.
“David Haye is messing around in the jungle, David Price is fighting the elderly while Tyson is getting on with being the real deal in the heavyweight division.
“He’s already shown that he’s the best in Britain and when he beats Johnson he’ll prove that he’s ready to go on and rule the heavyweight division in 2013.
“If Tyson does what I believe he’s going to do on Saturday night, Tyson will be ready for the World title.
“Tyson has come a long way over the past 12 months, his coach Peter Fury has transformed into the ultimate fighting machine and come next year nobody will stand in his way.”
