The Ukranian, who has dominated the heavyweight division for more than nine years, will put his status as the undisputed champion of the world on the line when he faces the Morecambe-based giant in Dusseldorf, Germany, on October 24.

They will clash at the 55,000-capacity ESPRIT Arena, with the home of football club Fortuna Dusseldorf also acting as the venue when they meet the media for the first time.

Unbeaten Fury, 26, is the WBA and WBO’s mandatory challenge having recorded impressive stoppage wins over Dereck Chisora and Christian Hammer in his last two fights.

Peter Fury, his uncle and trainer said: “The only people out there who could give Tyson a fight – a genuine fight – are Wladimir Klitschko and (WBC champion) Deontay Wilder.

“He’s more than ready to take the title from Klitschko.”
