Coastal's Anton wins fight of the night

West End Road’s Coastal ABC, Morecambe’s only amateur club, put on a nine-fight card.

Anton Williams’ victory over Tony Hilton was the fight of the night, the Coastal man winning a unanimous decision in a high-tempo bout at bantamweight.

Connor Ramsey and Chris Houghton also won by unanimous decision, the latter giving his opponent a standing count in the second round.

Sheldon Hegerty was also a winner in the college’s sports hall.

It was a mixed night for the host club with Dave Fox losing a majority decision at 80kg with Simon Atherton and Alex Gilhespy also being edged out.

There were two exhibition skills bouts with the club’s first female fighter Paris Cooke-Davies and brother Zane in action.
