EX-MORECAMBE player Dave Perkins has secured a move to League One side Colchester.
Perkins, who is from Heysham and still lives around the district, moved to Rochdale 18 months ago from the Shrimps.

And a series of impressive performances attracted the attention of both Stockport and Colchester, both teams having fees agreed last week.

But a deal with Stockport broke down and Perkins has signed for Colchester, who were relegated from the Championship last season, for a fee believed to be around £150,000.

Perkins was signed for Rochdale by former Morecambe player Keith Hill. He joins former Morecambe team-mate Garry Thompson in League One, Thompson having signed for Scunthorpe.
