X Factor winner Joe McElderry has backed our Save Our Hospice campaign.
Joe, an ambassador for the Teenage Cancer Trust, encouraged everyone to try to donate or raise some money for our appeal, no matter how small the amount.
“I’ve visited a lot of cancer units and there are endless amounts of money, nursing and care put into these places,” he said.
“Unless you know someone who has been affected in some way by cancer, it’s tough to think in that way. But you never know what’s around the corner in life.
“It’s easy to raise money by doing a fun run or a cake sale. Even if you just raise £10, it’s still something.
“Even a little amount goes a long way.”
Joe was speaking ahead of his upcoming gig at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster on May 31.
St John’s Hospice in Lancaster has a £500,000 annual defecit. We are trying to raise half a million pounds to cover this amount.
