A Morecambe rock ‘n’ roller has released a Christmas record in aid of #SaveOurHospice.
Pete Nelson’s instrumental album ‘A Merry Twangy Christmas’ is on sale now with all proceeds going to our appeal for St John’s.
Pete, who runs The View cafe on Morecambe promenade and a record stall on the Festival Market, is an accomplished guitarist and singer.
Real name Pete Blackburn, he was a member of 1960s rock ‘n’ roll band The Black Cats and later toured as a solo comedian and musician.
The instrumental album contains four classic Christmas songs played in the style of The Shadows.
Pete decided to back our campaign because, as he says: “Who doesn’t know somebody who has been affected by cancer?
“A friend of mine has had stomach cancer and I’ve read that one in three people will get cancer during their lives and it might eventually become one in two.
“The hospice helps people during the bad times.”
Pete’s album is available from The View Cafe on Marine Road Central, priced £5.
Look out for a feature on Pete’s amazing life coming soon to The Visitor.
