ALTHOUGH Heysham Atoms' senior side are taking a well deserved rest after a demanding season, some of the Atoms Juniors have been busy.
A group represented the club at the final Lancashire Trials held at Southlands High School in Chorley.
Daniel Helme (Morecambe High), Lewis Bolton (Morecambe High) and Curtis Lacey (Carnforth High) all attended the trial that involved 50 boys comp
eting for 20 places in the final Lancashire squad. The standard was extremely high with the cream of Lancashire's Rugby League players on show at year eight (under 13) level.
Unfortunately none of the Atoms players progressed to the final squad but they all played with great commitment and skill, representing the Heysham Atoms with great pride.
Antony Livingstone (Ripley St Thomas) although playing his rugby league for Blackpool Scorpions, has strong links to the Atoms (dad Peter and brother Billy playing for the Atoms senior side) will be involved in the under 15s trial at the same venue later this week.
The Heysham Atoms would like to congratulate the players for their participation in these trials, showing that the Atoms are held in high regard at county level.
The Heysham Atoms annual meeting will be held on Thursday, starting 7.30pm at Trimpell. All welcome.
