The 'ice' rink set up by the team behind the Winning Back Morecambe's West End project is attracting hundreds of children and other skating enthusiasts to a Christmassy winter wonderland.

As well as free ice-skating and the loan of skates, there's music all week and a Friday fireworks finale.

Alan Winters, Community Development Officer, Winning Back Morecambe's West End said: "Children from local primary schools have been making the most out of the ice rink and have loved it.

"Throughout the week there will be performances from Morecambe Brass Band and the Salvation Army band and on Friday there will be a firework finale from 9pm.

"We hope to see as many local residents as possible, as we have provided this ice rink free of charge for their benefit."

What's your view on the use of CCTV?
More the merrier - if you've done nothing wrong, you've nothing to worry about
Only appropriate in certain crime-spot areas
I'd be very worried if we had too many
