I was heartened to read in your article on July 22 concerning camping pods at the Golden Ball Inn, that the council had rejected the recommendation of council officials that the pods “would have an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the surrounding countryside”.
A decision that I broadly agree with as the pods are fairly unobtrusive and visually interesting.
What a pity that the same council did not reject the view of the same officials who declared that Heysham South Wind Farm’s three wind turbines, 125 metres (410 feet) high, which incidentally is twice as high as the Heysham power stations and nearly as high as Blackpool tower, will be less than a mile from the above site and would NOT be overbearing.
GADZOOKS! Are these people fit to hold office?
