Thanks to all of our supporters for generously contributing to our 2014 Light up a Life Appeal. Around 500 local people attended our two special services at the Winter Gardens, Morecambe, and at Kendal Parish Church in early December to remember loved ones at Christmas time and at the same time support the work of the hospice.

Many others supported the appeal by making a donation and dedication in memory of a loved one, receiving a handwritten card with a loved one’s name on and the assurance that a light would shine on the trees in the hospice gardens during the Christmas period.

A total of £23,786.29 was raised from the appeal which will enable St John’s to provide care, hope and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their loved ones in the South Lakes and North Lancashire.

St John’s Hospice would also like to thank local businesses and companies who supported the appeal and in particular Bowker Limited who for the ninth year have helped get the lights ready so that they can shine in St John’s Hospice grounds every night in December services in memory of those loved ones lost but never forgotten.
