There is no doubt at all that the best thing about Morecambe is the view across the bay.
From the promenade and Stone Jetty the seascape, the bird life and the Lake District mountains all seem absolutely amazing.
There is nowhere else in the UK that can compete.
However there is one major negative which spoils the whole front area.
This is the Big White Hole.
Why on earth does the council allow this absolute eyesore to continue.
If it is filled in and transformed into a landscaped park with an ornamental pond etc the whole of Morecambe would immediately become more attractive and the visitors would surely come.
At the moment the atmosphere is one of dereliction, not beauty.
