Our very own X Factor star has shown off his big voice for Lancaster and Morecambe College students.

Paul Akister performed at the college just 48 hours before he appears on ‘Boot Camp’ on the hit ITV show.

Despite being full of a cold, the 24-year-old from Lancaster belted out Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change is Gonna Come’ just as he did so impressively on The X Factor last Saturday.

He also sang a duet with friend and fellow local singer Mark McKenna.

Paul’s appearance was part of Thursday’s Lancaster and Morecambe College Fair.

His soulful vocals were a big hit with celebrity judges Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh on last weekend’s The X Factor where he got through the auditions round.

Watch to see if Paul can make it through to judges’ houses this weekend on The X Factor (Saturday, ITV1, 8.20pm and Sunday, ITV1, 7.30pm.)
