Two best friends who are putting their bodies through the mill for charity raised over £3,000 at a charity night.

Tracy Hartley and Rose Buckler-Brown are halfway through a 12-month challenge to complete one endurance event per month.

The girls have already completed a three-hour Spinathon, the Lancaster 3 Bridges 10K and the Great Manchester Run, to name a few.

Still to come on their gruelling calendar are a cross bay walk on July 14, the Great North Run, a Total Warrior event and the Coniston Challenge.

Tracy and Rose, nicknamed ‘Popsy and Posey’, decided to celebrate their 30th birthday year by taking on these strength-sapping courses to raise funds for The Stroke Association and the Spinal Injuries Association.

Their charity night at the University of Cumbria brought in £3,059.02.

Businesses, friends and family donated items for an auction, hosted by The Visitor’s Greg Lambert.

Guitarist and singer Paul Connor provided live music and chef Chris Dickson put on the food.
