The niece and nephew of George Formby were amongst hundreds of fans of the old-time entertainer who turned out (nice again) at the Winter Gardens in Morecambe on Saturday.

The George Formby Society convention came to town and saw live tributes to Formby’s music, an exhibition of classic Formby posters and bills, and ukuleles aplenty.

Formby, famed for his songs When I’m Cleaning Windows and Leaning on a Lamppost, was a regular visitor to Morecambe during his pre and post-war heyday and performed at the Winter Gardens.
