Police are investigating after two scooters and a car were deliberately set alight in two separate incidents in Heysham early today, Monday.

Fire crews were first called to Douglas Avenue just before 2am, where two motor scooters were on fire.

While extinguishing the blaze, the fire crews were called by the police to inform them of a second fire in Bailey Lane, involving a car.

The Fiat Multipla was on fire at the side of the road when firefighters arrived at the scene at around 2.30am.

Police are investigating both incidents, although not linking the two at this stage.

Anyone with any information about either incident should contact the police on 101 quoting either refernce number 113/30th March (scooter fire) or 128/30th March (car fire).
