The Feud track on Radio 1

LONGTIME followers of the local music scene may recall a young blues band called Tantrum and wonder whatever happened to them.

The answer may surprise you.

Two years ago, Tantrum bandmates Luke Paget and Jamie Walker joined forces with Stephen Mildwater to form a new group called The Feud.

The Feud’s sound could not be more different from the smoky blues-rock of Tantrum – but the change has brought massive success to the trio from the Kirkby Lonsdale area.

This week, their new track It Ain’t Right will be played on every Radio 1 daytime show from Monday to Friday.

Released on Monday, It Ain’t Right’s high-octane bass and space-age synths place it firmly in the electro dance-rock category occupied by the likes of Klaxons and Pendulum.

“We started Tantrum when we were still at school and we just wanted a change,” said Luke, 25.

“We went to Los Angeles last year and worked with some amazing producers.

“Now we’re ready to put our music out to the world to see what they think of it.”

In high demand throughout Europe, The Feud are now set for a triumphant homecoming.

They will perform this Saturday night (May 26) at the Yorkshire House, Lancaster.

The Dark Con of Man will provide support. The show starts at 8pm.

Admission is free.
