An 18-year-old teenager suffered suspected head injuries after falling 15 metres from a ledge close to the beach.
Ambulance crews were called to Jenny Brown’s Point, a popular spot in Silverdale, near Carnforth, shortly after 5pm on Wednesday.
They alerted the Liverpool Coastguard at 5.26pm and a team from Arnside was sent.
The North West Air Ambulance was also called due to the difficulties with access.
A spokesman for the Liverpool Coastguard said the man had suffered “possible head injuries”.
He said: “The coastguard team went down with a stretcher. The ambulance couldn’t access him.”
The man was flown to hospital, the spokesman said.
At around the same time, coastguard officers were called to the beach at Morecambe Bay.
Eye witnesses had reported seeing people “around a mile and a half from the Midland Hotel”.
The people were walking to safety as the Morecambe coastguard crew arrived at 5.05pm.
