AN award-winning soprano soloist will guest star at the Promenade Concert Orchestra’s first performance in Morecambe this year.
Caroline MacPhie, whose parents co-incidentally live in Lancaster, will sing some lovely solos by the Strauss family, Lehar’s Vilja, Roses in Tyrol by Zeller and Im Chambre séparée by Heuberger, with orchestra and piano accompaniment.
Caroline’s vocals will form part of the orchestra’s fifth New Year Viennese Concert at The Platform in Morecambe on January 29 at 3pm.
Along with the Gypsy Baron overture there will be waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family, L’Estudiantina waltz of Waldteufel, a Hungarian March and, as always, a surprise waltz to pop the champagne cork.
