MULTI-MILLIONAIRE Jimi Heselden who went to the Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp at Silverdale as a boy, was honoured during a recent civic day.
Mr Heselden, the former owner of the Segway motorised scooter company, had donated large sums of money to the camp and many other charities before his death.
The civic day was a wonderful event that celebrated the work of this long-established charity. Guest of honour was the charity’s president, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun Rev Alan Taylor.
Lord Mayor Taylor unveiled a special plaque by Silverdale artist Barbara Davies dedicated to the memory of Mr Heselden.
