A funeral director and long-standing member of the Bare business community was given a special award for 60 years of service.

Harry Peel, from Bare and Torrisholme Funeral Services, was awarded a glass plaque by Lee Fisher, vice-chairman of the Bare Village Business Association (BVBA) and Cameron Seddon, Lord Mayor of Bare.

Mr Peel has been in business on Bare Lane since 1953.

His wife Barbara Peel was presented with flowers by Derek Morgan of Robinsons Florists on Princes Crescent, who is himself celebrating 30 years in business this year.

Look out for a feature on Harry Peel in The Visitor soon.
