A BEAUTIFUL snow leopard which appeared in the children’s fantasy film The Golden Compass starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman, has a new home at the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis at Hale near Carnforth.
Pavan, one of two snow leopards that played the part of Stelamaria in the film, was first shown to the public on Saturday after an opening ceremony at his enclosure.
A garrulous Coun Roger Bingham officiated at the opening ceremony with the aid of assistant manageress Caroline Howard.
An acrylic tunnel through the enclosure enables visitors to see the majestic animal close up.
Caroline said: “We’re really excited about Pavan’s arrival – he’s a real celebrity cat. His new home is amazing.”
