TWO sisters from Morecambe are planning to cycle more than 200 miles to raise funds for the cancer treatment of an inspirational friend.

Roz and Alice Wilson are training hard for the cycle ride from London to Wales.

Roz explained: “We are raising funds for the cancer treatment of our friend Kay under the wing of charity Star Throwers – supporting patients who are not ready to accept that nothing further can be done.

“In 2006 Kay was diagnosed with breast cancer which spread to her liver and she was given six months to live.

“Being a researcher she found treatments abroad and defied medical expectations by surviving for three years (officially 97 per cent die within two years).

“Her experience has already helped others to seek alternative treatment.”
