A petition has been launched asking for more trains to stop at Silverdale.
Silverdale Parish Council and David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, also want the rail companies to improve connections between the village train station and Manchester and want Northern Rail to provide more modern carriages to reduce overcrowding.
Mr Morris hopes to present the petition in Parliament.
“During my recent summer tour one of the biggest issues to be raised was the need for more trains to call at Silverdale station,” he said.
“I have decided to issue this petition so that commuters in Silverdale can make their voices heard in Parliament and directly to the rail companies.”
Anyone wishing to sign the petition can either contact their local Silverdale Parish Councillor or can sign the petition online HERE
