Shakespeare on screen

A NEW version of Coriolanus and a classic re-telling of Macbeth hit the big screen at The Dukes as part of Lancaster’s first Season of Shakespeare.

Ralph Fiennes directs and stars in Coriolanus(15) which is screened at The Dukes cinema from February 17 to 19.

Shakespeare and The Hurt Locker collide in this intelligent, contemporary adaptation of the Bard’s tale of political intrigue.

In a country at war, a feared and admired General, Caius Martius, plans a career in politics but events – and his opponents – conspire against him.

On March 12, The Dukes will screen Throne of Blood(PG), a classic re-telling of Macbeth from legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa.
