THE countdown to Christmas got into full swing with nearly 80 CancerCare supporters kitted out in Father Christmas suits and reindeer antlers dashing through the streets of Lancaster.

They ran, jogged, walked, danced, rolled and jingled their way from Salt Ayre Sports Centre into Market Square.

The Mayor of Lancaster, Paul Woodruff also showed his support.

Ludus Dance and Bay Beat Carnival Band helped to get the runners moving.

Every penny raised will help to support local people affected by cancer in North Lancashire and South Lakeland.

CancerCare hope to raise in the region of £2,000.

The charity thanked The Bay, St Nicholas Arcade, Market Gate Shopping Centre, The Runners Centre, Bowland Water and Hartley Hire and all their supporters and volunteers.
