A man fractured his back and cut his head after rolling his car three or four times.

North West Ambulance Service said the 38-year-old driver had to be airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment following the accident at 5.10pm on April 27.

The accident occurred at the junction of Lancaster Road and Hillam Lane in Cockerham. Police said the A588 was closed for several hours following the crash.

A woman who was passenger in the car suffered minor injuries.

There were two dogs in the car but no reports that they were injured.

Police said the man’s injuries were not life changing or life threatening.
