Ram raiders steal cash machine
The damage at Spar on Willow lane Lancaster after it was ram-raided.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a cash machine was stolen from a shop during a JCB ram raid.
Around 1.30am on Thursday, February 21, police received a call reporting that the ATM at the Spar store on Willow Lane was in the process of being stolen.
Officers found the cash machine being loaded into a burgundy Vauxhall Frontera which police then followed along Cabus Street towards Dennybeck at Halton.
The offenders suddenly stopped their van and reversed into the police vehicle before driving off towards Quarry Road and abandoning the van and the cash machine at the junction with Low Road.
It is believed a JCB had been used to force the cash machine from an outside wall at the Spar and that a white Vauxhall Movano may have been driven in convoy with the Frontera. Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
*A man has been charged with conspiracy to steal and was remanded in custody following an initial court appearance to appear at a later date.
