Radio dream moves step closer for Carnforth students

A FUNDRAISING campaign to set up a radio station at Carnforth High School is almost halfway to its target.

Teacher Pam Newman decided in October that it would be a good idea if the school had a radio station, which would be run by pupils within the school. However after seeking quotes it was discovered that this would cost £3,500 to set up.

Therefore a plan was put into place where money would be raised through staging musical events during the spring and summer terms with the hope that other departments would want to be involved.

Various events have taken place to raise money towards this project with the total amount now standing at £1,600. In July the pupils put on a fund raising concert at The Grand Theatre, Lancaster.
