YOU still have until July 23 to make your views known on plans for a large-scale development on Morecambe promenade next to the Midland Hotel.
And you can see the plans for yourselves in the Arndale Centre every day this week until Friday (July 20).
Councillor David Kerr, chairman of Morecambe Town Council, will be in the shopping centre to canvass opinions from the public on Urban Splash’s desire to build 385 residential apartments, 17 beach houses, car parking spaces, new public open spaces, shops, cafes and a major leisure attraction on land east of the Midland.
Morecambe Town Council will then meet to discuss the planning application at a meeting on Thursday night (July 19) at 7pm at Morecambe Town Hall.
However the town council does not have the power to approve or refuse the application, it can only issue a response to it.
Lancaster City Council has the final say on the plans and is expected to make its decision later this year.
The latest Urban Splash plans, which have been revised for the second time, can be viewed online at www.lancaster.gov.uk/planning by keying in application number 07/01810/OUT.
A computer is available to view the plans at customer service centres at Morecambe and Lancaster town halls.
Hard copies of the plans are also available at Morecambe Town Hall.
Comments can be submitted either on-line, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to Development Control Team, PO Box 4, Town Hall, Lancaster, LA1 1QR. They must arrive by the deadline date of Monday, July 23.
