AN alleyway in Morecambe town centre was cordoned off by police last Friday morning following reports of an incident during the night.

The incident was alleged to have occurred in the alley between Pedder Street and the Euston Road shopping precinct.

A police spokesman said: “An allegation of sexual assault was made but after an investigation, it was found that no offence has been committed.”
