Plays have puppet power

HERE is your chance to make your own puppet or fun mask and watch a classic children’s story outdoors in a beautiful setting.

Williamson Park, in Lancaster, will host the trio of plays next month, with a fun craft workshop taking place prior to each one.

The workshops will be held before the theatre performances on:

Tuesday, August 7 – The Twits workshop – 1pm to 2.30pm

Wednesday, August 15 – The Railway Children workshop – 5pm to 6.30pm.

Tuesday, August 21 – A Midsummer Night’s Dream workshop – 5pm to 6.30pm.

The workshops are ideal for children aged seven and over. Children under 11 should be accompanied by an adult.

All materials will be provided in the £5 entry fee. Admission for accompanying adults is free. Booking is essential.

There are five theatre productions in total being held in the park next month.

Shakespeare’s Henry V on Wednesday, August 1, and Thursday, August 2, at 7.30pm; £13.50 for adults £8.50 for children and £39 for a family (2+2).

Roald Dahl’s The Twits on Tuesday, August 7, and Wednesday, August 8, at 3.30pm; £13.50 for adults £8.50 for children and £39 for a family (2+2).

Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore on Sunday, August 12, at 7.30pm; £15 for adults £10 for children/concessions and £45 for a family (2+2).

E Nesbit’s The Railway Children on Wednesday 15, or Thursday, August 16, at 7.30pm; £13 for adults £9 for children and concessions or £39 for a family (2+2).

A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Tuesday, August 21 or Wednesday, August 22, at 7.30pm £13.50 adults, £8.50 students and children, £39 family (2+2).
