Park home gas war heats up

RESIDENTS of a park home site in Morecambe are at war with their landlords after their heating was cut off for 10 days.

Tenants of Broadfields Park on Oxcliffe Road are refusing to pay their gas bills, claiming prices have more than doubled over the past two years.

But landlords Hill Brothers, who cut off about 12 residents’ heating on January 7, say they have stuck rigidly to the law and claim some tenants are two years in arrears.

Now David Morris MP has stepped in, calling for the Government to ensure regulation of gas prices on park and mobile home sites.

According to laws, park home landlords can charge whatever they want to supply their residents with energy.
