Packed weekend for music in Morecambe

Artists from up and down the country will come together for a live musical extravaganza across the resort.

The weekend starts off on Friday night with Soul Am at the Rotunda Bar at the Midland Hotel.

Saturday daytime sees Parklife at the Platform, hosted by Ashleigh Wood and 
Steve Middlesbrough, with up to a dozen new bands and artists between noon and 5pm.

Artists include The Jjohns (Liverpool) (who will also perform at Morecambe Winter Gardens on August 29 at 6pm), Lost Citizens, Jay Blackburn, Sol, Alice Hollywood, Megan S and Niall Bartlett.

Saturday night it is back at the Rotunda for Interstate, an American rock radio road trip featuring tracks from top US artists like Steely Dan, Hall and Oates, The Doobie Brothers, Toto and The Eagles.

Sunday afternoon is the 50s juke box jive with the best tracks of the late 1950s and hi-octane rock ’n’ roll from The Black Cat Trio and Ricky Aron and the Juke Box Jove DJs.

The bank holiday weekend wraps up on Sunday night at The Platform with Disco Inferno 4, featuring all the classic dance anthems from 1974 to 1984 from DJs Steve Middlesbrough, Ian Simpson and Phil Hayward.
