Ninety new homes could be built next to Morecambe Football Club.
A planning application from Chorley Community Housing has gone in for a housing development near the Globe Arena.
The triangular piece of land, to the left of the ground looking from Westgate, is currently used for grazing horses and is bordered by the railway line.
A new access road to the development could mean a new junction would be created on Westgate.
The proposed houses are a mixture of bungalows, apartments and other units, with one, two, three and four bedroom alternatives. A ‘screening opinion’ type of application has gone in. This is usually needed when sites are of environmental interest so applicants can receive a comment from Lancaster City Council before a full application goes in.
The council’s response is expected by early January.
