The mystery of an old chest of drawers has got Tina Newman stumped.

Tina, of Whitby Road in Morecambe, recently bought some second-hand drawers and discovered a time capsule of surprising items inside.

She found a number of old wedding photographs and congratulations cards, programmes from old-time variety shows, and even an Ilford Pixie 127 camera.

Now Tina has turned detective, hoping to reunite these precious belongings with their owner as they may have sentimental value.

After piecing together the evidence, she thinks they belonged to a man called George Jackson.

Some of the wedding cards are addressed to Mr and Mrs G Jackson, and are dated 1957.

Another clue is a birthday card which says: “To George, love Tony, Sue, Rebecca and Katie.”

Some of the wedding photos look like they might have been taken at Heysham.

There are also documents from the former ICI plant at Middleton, so perhaps Mr Jackson once worked there.

The Ilford camera was first manufactured in 1966 and is now an extremely rare collector’s item.

Are you this George Jackson, or do you know him? Please get in touch with Looking Back.
