THIS year’s flynnthedog Pet ‘Pawtrait’ competition in aid of abandoned animals has a new venue.
The popular annual competition, now in its third year, will take place at Williamson Park, Lancaster, during the dog show run by Lancaster charity Animal Care on Sunday, September 4, from 10am to 3pm.
Pet owners are invited to enter their pets into the competition, which is run by Katie Jenkins, proprietor of flynnthedog pet supplies store on Alfred Street, Lancaster, and Steve Pendrill of Steve Pendrill Photography, who will be taking the pictures.
Katie and Steve will each donate 10% of sales from the day to Animal Care.
The competition provides a superb chance for proud pet owners to acquire a professional photograph of their animal.
The winner receives a portrait on canvas of their pet, worth £85, donated by local wedding, portrait and commercial photographer Steve Pendrill.
Entry is by donation of just £2 per pet.
Katie Jenkins said: “We are very happy to be working so closely with Animal Care.
“Our previous Pet ‘Pawtrait’ competitions have helped raise money for this much-loved charity so it seemed natural for us to run this competition at the same time as their successful dog show.”
