More than 200 shoppers queued from as early as 3.30am to be first in line to get their hands on prizes at the official opening of Aldi in Carnforth.
Golden envelopes containing tickets to win special prizes were handed out to the first 100 people in the queue.
Liam Law, 25, took home the star prize of a 32” HD TV.
Visitors reported on social media that they were struggling to find parking spaces days after the opening.
An Aldi spokesman said: “There has been significant interest from local shoppers following the opening of our first store in Carnforth, and this has resulted in the car park becoming busy at certain times of the day.
“Aldi will be implementing a one-way system for the car park, and is arranging for arrows to be painted to highlight this.
“In addition, we will also look at painting an arrow on the exit to the main road to improve the traffic flow.”
