Mum’s plea for return of treasured photo
A DEVASTATED mum whose young son died 12 years ago has had her purse stolen which contained the last picture of her child.
Angela Jackson, 44, was shopping in Farm Foods in Lancaster when the thief struck.
She accidentally left her purse on the counter while packing her shopping at the Parliament Street store and then walked out without it.
After walking to meet her mum at Lancaster bus station she suddenly realised it was gone.
She rang the store but by then it was too late.
The purse contained the last picture of her two-year-old son Christopher, who died in March 2000 from meningitis.
The mum-of-four said: “Coming out of the store I knew I did not have my purse in my hands because I had both hands on the baby’s buggy.
“As soon as I realised I didn’t have it in my pocket, I knew what I had done.
“I had just put it down for a second as I packed my shopping and then walked out without it.
“One of my first thoughts was ‘Oh my God, that picture is in there.”
