Repairs to Morecambe's Wave Reflection Wall begin this year.

A senior engineer will unveil plans to revamp Morecambe sea wall this Thursday (January 15).

The Lancaster City Council engineer will give a presentation on designs for improving Morecambe Wave Reflection Wall.

The first phase to replace the section of wall between Happy Mount Park and Lord Street is scheduled to start later this year.

Almost £10m of funding was awarded to the council by the Enviroment Agency to restore the wall, which was installed in the 1980s and is now showing signs of cracking to the concrete face.

Subsequent phases will cover the stretch of seafront between the Midland Hotel and Oakley Road.

The presentation will be part of the Morecambe Town Council meeting at Morecambe Town Hall, starting at 7pm.
