Slyne-with Hest St Luke’s Primary School were winners at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Representing Morecambe FC, the youngsters were crowned champions of the npower League 2 Kids Cup with a 2-1 win over Minterne Junior School before the play-off final between Northampton Town and Bradford City.

Aaron Hartin and Callum Waldie got the goals for the Slyne school who after their victory climbed the famous steps to the Royal Box to lift the trophy and collect their medals.

After the presentation players from both teams then became the npower flag-bearers and walked out with Northampton and Bradford as they clashed for a place in League 1, former Shrimps star Garry Thompson helping the Yorkshire side to a 3-0 win.
