A GIFTED young musician from Morecambe has his eyes set on future stardom after releasing his first EP and YouTube video.

Teenage singer/songwriter Josh Bolan has produced a gripping promo for his song Missiles – taken from his four-track CD Fairly Reckless. The black and white footage, shot by Josh and his girlfriend Becky Hepworth in and around Morecambe promenade, shows off the bleak beauty of the resort’s winter landscape.

The stark video complements Josh’s attacking vocal style, which he describes as “dark, atmospheric and angry” and sounds strikingly similar to Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

“As most of his songs are backed by a simple acoustic guitar, 19-year-old Josh is also bound to be compared to double Brit-winner Ed Sheeran. But this single-minded young man rejects such suggestions: “I’m not a big fan of Ed Sheeran. I like Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Muse and Radiohead. I suppose you could call me a music snob. Pop gets on my nerves. I’ll roll my eyes in B&M Bargains when Steps comes on.”
